The NDC Will Crush like Babylon – Christian Group

Still unable to resolve the impasse between the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Mensah Otabil leader of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) and the Christian Church in general and the President, John Dramani Mahama, is said to have scheduled a meeting with the Clergy today at the Castle. A notable absentee from this meeting is Dr. Otabil.

The President’s prior agenda according to most analysts is ostensibly to influence these eminent men to ‘go out there and use their pulpits to make him (the President) clean before their congregations’ in order to win more votes.

Seeing this move as hypocritical, a group known as the Concerned Christians Association of Ghana has strongly chided the President, describing him as ‘Indecisive and Not In-Charge of the affairs of this Nation’.

Responding to Kakra Essamuah, a communication’s team member of the NDC a few days ago likening Dr. Mensah Otabil to the Tyrant king Nebuchadnezzar, Rev. Johnson Agyekum, a member of the group has said “dooms day” has fallen on the NDC and the party will soon crush like the old Kingdom of Babylon then ruled by Nebuchadnezzar.

“As the house of hard-hearted pharaoh fell around Pharaoh, so shall the NDC fall in the 2012 elections. They have allowed themselves to be consumed by the arrogance in them and God will surely deflate their ego”.

They said while fruitless attempts are being made to distance the president from the Dr. Mensah Otabil tape, Education Watch which is said to be responsible for that Campaign ad, have also come strongly to reiterate their position not to stop airing the tape.

“If the words of the so called Education Watch appear to be more powerful than that of the president, then, we maintain our position that the president is not in control”.

Expressing their dissatisfaction about the clergy, the group said it is sad and shameful to observe that since the Otabil voice being used by the NDC became public debate, just some few voices have openly spoken against it.

“Apart from Bishop Addae-Mensah of Gospel light international church and Rev Professor Martey, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, the Kaneshie local area head of the Church of Pentecost who have courageously voiced their condemnation of the Otabil tape as a diabolic scheme to hoodwink and deceive Ghanaians, there has been a deafening silence on the part of the Church as a collective group’.

‘This is notwithstanding the fact that out of public view and hearing, most of the clergy are against the malicious misuse of the image and voice of Dr Otabil’ The group maintains.

The group hinted further that, there are lots of emotional annoyances within the fraternity of the church. “The NDC we believe have bitten more than they can chew” said the group.

They again described those who claim to be members of ICGC, yet appear on various media platforms criticizing Dr Mensah Otabil – as Pseudo Christians who have been planted in ICGC as spies just to distract the body of Christ”.
