Abronye DC fights NPP MP over Dormaa West seat

Maverick Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye DC is at war with the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa West Ali Maiga Halidu insisting he does not care if the seat reverts to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NPP executive has been accused of a plot to oust the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa West Ali Maiga Halidu to pave way for one Ransford Amponsah.

According to Abronye DC he is determined to open up the contest in the area stating that a whole majority chief whip is being contested wondering why others should not.

He said in a leaked chat “a whole majority chief whip is being contested how much more their arrogant and disrespected paymaster who is talking left and right. That seat is going back to NDC. Does your monthly salary as an MP come to me”, he asked.

Last week, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central berated Abronye for openly supporting one candidate against the incumbent advising ““ Abronye’s mouth is poison like mine. Instead of openly taking someone to Dormaa West to contest, the best was to talk to the person in secret…finish you don’t even have to open your mouth…call him to the house and let the elders speak for him and it will be carried across. He is rushing but as for me I would not lead such a mission”

Meanwhile, some constituents have accused Abronye of deliberately creating antagonism between the MP of Dormaa West Constituency, Hon. Ali Maiga Halidu and the President, nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo as well as the party’s National executives .

“The MP does not fear and is NOT against any candidate who will contest him in the primaries because we the youth and 99% of the delegates is solidly behind him and no amount of distractions like his can influence their decision.

Ali Maiga never campaigned for the Constituents to vote for him and vote against the president in the 2016 elections. This Abronye’s lies is clear evidence and manifestation that he is not well versed with the political history of the Dormaa west Constituency and the Bono Region as a whole” the youth of the area said in reaction a claim made by Abronye DC.
