?400m basketball court for Nkoranza

The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is to provide a ?40 million basketball court on the campus of the Local Authority Junior Secondary School (JSS) at Nkoranza for use by members of the physically handicapped association. Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, the District Chief Executive, Mr. Richard Yaw Soro, Chairman of the Physically Handicapped Association and Mr. Ralf Kirschner, a representative of GTZ, last week signed a memorandum of understanding for the commencement of the project.

The DCE commended the German Embassy for the initiative and gave the assurance that the Nkoranza District Assembly would offer the needed support to ensure the successful completion of the project.

He asked the District Planning Officer and the Civil Engineer to ensure quality work on the project to avoid the donor’s support going to waste.

Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi commended Mr. Soro for his able leadership in bringing members of the association together for their vocational training.

Mr. Kirschner expressed the hope that the project would be completed by February, next year and that all the stakeholders would play their roles effectively.

Meanwhile Mr. Samuel Odame Bosompem, District Education Sports Organiser, has been nominated as a stakeholder to offer technical advice on the project.
